Crocheted fringe is the hallmark of all the great Sixties and Seventies boho style, it looks great on just about everything from blankets to ponchos

I had always believed it as really difficult to make so I really shied away from patterns that had a fringe, but when I saw this great video tutorial by Hectanooga 1 on Youtube, she really was like a myth-busting hero who blew away those old ideas and presented a really simple way to make crocheted fringe as an addition to any pattern you are making. The way Hectanooga explains how to make this fringe in a very simple way, she uses an ordinary Bic pen to measure how long you make the long loops that will become the fringe tassels. After you manage to learn this method, you can easily modify this fringe to make it as long or as short as you would like. This is a really cool way to add something new to an existing garment or decorative item as well, you could stitch a chain of this crocheted fringe to anything.
Materials: Yarn A crochet hook Scissors An ordinary disposable pen Directions:
In the video, you will learn how to pull a long loop that will become one of the fringe tassels. You will use an ordinary disposable pen, such as a Bic ballpoint, to gauge how long you want your fringe to be.

Then you twirl the crochet hook around 20 times making the loop really dense and taught then you will be shown how to loop it back in, fastening it to your work.

This method is super easy and useful, I’m so glad I found it.
