We often put things in our pockets. However, we only remember about them when we take the laundry out of the drum. Therefore, to avoid such situations, place a jar near the washing machine. It will always remind you to check your pockets before doing laundry. Besides, you will have a container for change or other things you find in your clothes.

Washing shoes in the washing machine is quick and convenient. Unfortunately, they make a terrible noise when spinning in the drum. However, there is a way around this. Just tie your sneakers with laces and hang them on the washing machine door. That way, they won’t bang against the drum walls and your laundry won’t be too noisy.

The side matters, at least when doing laundry and drying it. If you turn your clothes inside out before putting them in the washing machine, they will be less likely to get damaged and faded.

We usually try to get rid of coffee or tea stains, but these beverages can also be useful in laundry. If you add some coffee or black tea to the detergent dispenser, your black clothes will stay dark for longer.

If you don’t happen to have a stain remover at home and you notice a stain on your clothes, don’t wait for the dirt to sink into the fabric. Instead, simply use dishwashing liquid. Just pour some detergent on the stain, wait a few minutes, and then wash the garment as usual.

Over time, white clothes can become gray or yellowish. To bleach light-colored clothing, add some ground aspirin to your laundry detergent. You can also do a hand wash. Then just dissolve 10 tablets in 10 liters of water and soak your clothes in it for 7-8 hours. This method is effective even for old stains.

Backpacks and sports bags can be washed in the washing machine, but there are a few things to keep in mind. For starters, you need to shake out your backpack or bag to remove crumbs and small pieces of debris. You can clean the zipper with a toothbrush. Then, place your backpack in a laundry bag or old pillowcase and wash it in cold water, using a small amount of detergent.

Ink stains can be removed with milk. Soak the stained clothes in it and let it soak for 30-40 minutes, then wash as usual.

Chocolate stains can be removed with hydrogen peroxide or kerosene. Just pour some of the liquid on the stain and wash it later. Remember, however, that hydrogen peroxide has a bleaching effect, so you can only use it on white clothes.

Lemon juice and baking soda work well on sweat stains. Just rub the solution into the stain and then leave it like that for 15 minutes. Finally, wash the clothes as usual and you’re done.

Fresh berry stains can be removed by salt. You just have to rub it into the stain and wait until it absorbs the color. Then, shake off the salt and wash the clothes in cold water.

For ketchup stains, dishwashing liquid is best. Rinse the clothes in it and then (if the clothes are light colored) douse the stain in hydrogen peroxide. After 15 minutes, wash it as usual.

Starch works well for greasy stains. Just sprinkle it on the stain and then shake out the clothes. Finally, wash them in hot water.

White vinegar helps in cleaning blood stains. Pour some vinegar on the stain and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Then wash as usual.

Grass stains, on the other hand, can be removed with salt. Soak the clothes in warm water with salt for 2 hours. Then, wash it and you are done.
