Question:
Answer:
It depends on your reason for using it. If you want to use it to hang hangers with wet clothes to dry them, you will get less hangers because they need space between them to dry. Which is what I use it for. I would say 10-12. But if you are using it to hang clothes for extra closet space, you can easily double that amount.
By Amy B Lindell on June 17, 2017
As I'm using this as a drying rack, I don't hang more than 8-10 items at a time. If you're using this as extra behind the door storage, then probably at least double the amount, depending on how closely you want to space your clothing.

Right now I have 25 hangers with dresses and skirts on mine and still have some room.

Question:
Answer:
Hi George. Yes, this door rack will fit your 1-3/4" thick door. My door is close to 1-1/2" with a good half inch to spare. You will love this rack. It is so strong and nice looking. I hope this helps you.
By cbokay on November 3, 2016
Yes, it should fit. My door is 1.1/2in. and there is still a gap causing the rack to tilt forward a bit but still very sturdy. Love this rack because it holds a lot.

There is approximately 2" between hanger and door.
By Kathy on April 25, 2017
