Have you ever shopped at Nordstrom? If so, you know that they carry quality name brands and high-end products, from luxe cashmere blended sweaters to the more casual slim-fitting tees perfect for layering.

They also provide great customer service in a luxe shopping environment.

From inspirational editorials online to well-merchandised products in-store, it makes sense that Nordstrom is the stylish man’s preferred department store.

The Best Stores Just Like Nordstrom Worth Your Consideration

So if you love that entire experience and quality product, you may wonder if there are other stores like Nordstrom where you can find something similar.

Of course there are! Here are our recommendations for 13 other stores like Nordstrom that you may not have considered (but definitely should):

Bloomingdale’s

Bloomingdale’s is another high-end department store that we’re sure you’ve heard of. It’s a direct competitor of Nordstrom that carries similar (if not more / higher-end) brands.

If you’re ever in New York City, stop by the flagship uptown on 59th St. and Lexington Ave. They have a beautiful, historic space that’s been newly curated with tons of great additions and incredible brands.

Bloomingdale’s is also slated to open its first-ever, “Bloomie’s,” which they’re labeling as a scaled-down, more casual approach to the typical luxury department store one is used to.

The new Bloomie’s will even offer alterations and appointments with professional stylists, just like their regular-sized stores.

Saks Fifth Avenue

Saks, while a competitor of both Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom, feels even more luxurious and high-end. From their selection of brands, to their live events to a digital stylist, it doesn’t get much more luxe than Saks Fifth Avenue’s services.

Saks Fifth Avenue offers an online “shop by occasion” feature that is super helpful when you can’t decide between the double-breasted jersey sportcoat or the pique crew sweater.

As a direct competitor of Nordstrom, it’s no surprise that Saks Fifth Avenue’s e-commerce website is top-notch, easy to navigate, and fun to shop.

Ralph Lauren

Best known for their polo shirts, Ralph Lauren is an iconic American brand influencing the way we’ve dressed for over 50 years.

Ralph Lauren has several brands under its umbrella. This includes Polo Ralph Lauren, which is sold at Nordstrom. Ralph Lauren has dressed the sophisticated gentleman in and out of the halls of Ivy League schools.

With sustainability becoming a top concern, especially within one of the most wasteful industries, fashion, Ralph Lauren is adapting like so many other brands.

They’ve introduced what is known as “The Earth Polo,” crafted entirely from plastic bottles and dyed using a waterless process.

Todd Snyder

Dubbed “The Man Who Taught Men To Love Clothes,” Todd Snyder started out with Ralph Lauren designing outerwear.

Striped tees, sweater polos, and printed knit vests reminiscent of the seventies, Todd Snyder is the slightly hipper, fresher update every man needs to give to their closet.

From muddy tones called cappuccino to pops of color in citron, you’ll find everything from reconstructed denim jackets to Italian suede to the on-trend bandana-printed hoodies and sweatshirts.

The man who shops at Nordstrom will find the price point and overall aesthetic of Todd Snyder comparable (but cooler).

Reiss

Founded in 1971, this British fashion brand caters to the gentleman who doesn’t shy away from a little color blocking or unusual construction detail.

Reiss offers a selection of classic men’s clothing designed with smart, forward-thinking style. Their use of color and the silhouettes they choose feel very high fashion, but not “impossible to wear” runway-style fashion.

The prices are on par with Nordstrom as well, so nothing too wallet-emptying. You could technically shop at Reiss for your entire wardrobe and I wouldn’t blame you.

Boasting a celebrity following, including members of the Royal family, Reiss is a mainstay for quality and detail.

J.Crew

If you’re a regular EG reader, you’re no stranger to J.Crew. We recommend it all the time. That’s because they simply have it all! You can curate your entire smart sharp wardrobe just from this one store.

J.Crew has embodied a refined style since 1983 when they mailed their first catalog. Consistency is engrained in the overall fabric of this company (pun intended).

And just like Ralph Lauren and Nordstrom, J.Crew has made a commitment to sustainability with the launch of their “Re-imagined by J.Crew” initiative.

From garment-dyed slub cotton hoodies in earthy pastels to striped polos and tees, J.Crew is sure to satisfy the Nordstrom fan who wants a more curated selection of smart sharp essentials from one do-it-all brand.

Bonobos

Bonobos and J.Crew are easy to compare, since both sell smart sharp clothing for men. I’d argue that Bonobos’ strength is in its variety of fits. There’s a lot to choose from, but it’s very dialed in and easy to narrow down the best fit for you.

On top of that, they have a seamless online shopping experience and easy returns and exchanges, which makes sense since they’re primarily an online-only brand.

But, assuming you’re more of an in-person shopper, they do have Guideshops in select cities where you can try clothes on IRL and get help from a brand specialist.

You can try on anything you like while partaking in a cold one before the Guide places an order that will be shipped directly to your home or office.

I don’t know about you, but going shopping without having to lug any bags afterward sounds pretty awesome to me.

(By the way, Nordstrom does sell select Bonobos pieces at their stores, but it’s not the entire brand’s selection, so you’re limited.)

Club Monaco

Another brand with a limited selection sold at Nordstrom, Club Monaco can simultaneously get you ready for your next business meeting as well as your upcoming vacation.

From floral short-sleeve button-down shirts in jewel tones to jacquard crewneck sweaters to tipped collar polos in mustard or neutrals, Club Monaco serves up style on a silver platter.

Founded in 1985 with a goal toward “better basics,” Club Monaco has created effortless pieces for a polished presentation, day or night.

Banana Republic

The former “Banana Republic Travel & Safari Company” has it all. Whether you’re looking for comfy French terry hoodies to organic twill shirt jackets, aptly called the “shacket”, you won’t be disappointed with the inventory by any means.

It would be a miracle if the modern man was able to walk into a Banana Republic today and not find what he’s looking for.

BANANA-REPUBLIC homepage

Going on vacation? Banana Republic has a resort shirt for that and in organic cotton, no less! Going on a date? Are we thinking a casual navy poplin button-up, or a more formal Italian wool suit jacket in Bel Air blue?

With a focus on sustainability and a visual editorial-style blog called “The Journal,” Banana Republic rivals Nordstrom in customer service and attention to experience.

Ben Sherman

This British brand is for the younger Nordstrom shopper who isn’t afraid of a little print and a splash of color.

The man behind the brand was someone who “disliked regularity” and this is evident in the patterns and garment construction.

While Ben Sherman may be a master of gingham, paisley, and fair isle knits, rest assured it’s just as easy to find the standard basics.

Paul Smith

Paul Smith falls somewhere between high fashion and formalwear. It certainly takes the cake for most daring among our Nordstrom alternatives. It’s truly a pleasing visual and tactile injection into anyone’s wardrobe.

Prints reminiscent of your grandmother’s wallpaper line the shelves and dot your screen as you wax nostalgic and search for something a tad more subdued. Finally, you stumble upon a brushed cotton grey check shirt with contrasting yoke and cuffs.

And please don’t forget the socks! From multi-colored dinosaurs to pick-your-own three pairs to a classic sock subscription, there’s sure to be something for every taste.

Topman

Recently acquired by ASOS and also sold at Nordstrom, Topman offers a fantastic balance of evergreen pieces and trend-worthy accompaniments.

Both the younger and the young-at-heart gents can easily make use of Topman’s casual pieces.

And yes, you can also find a decent selection of formalwear (suits, trousers, jackets), but these definitely skew younger and trendier (and skinnier, ha!) in style and silhouette.

So if you need a grown man suit, it’s probably best to stick to Nordstrom.
