Before charming her groom at the aisle, Hailey Bieber looked like a princess at her final wedding dress fitting.
A behind-the-scenes video released by Vogue magazine offers a closer look at the supermodel’s custom gown, designed by Off-White founder Virgil Abloh. The clip shows her trying on the dress for the final time before her wedding ceremony.
The footage opens up with Abloh explaining in a voice recording of how he went about creating Bieber’s long-sleeve backless fishtail gown. Stating that this would be the first wedding gown he was designing, Abloh said he wanted “something fun and youthful” but traditional at the same time. The dress was also fitting with the bride’s personality, Abloh added.
He also wanted to create a dress that would make Justin Bieber see that Hailey is the “mot beautiful woman for him.”
“The dress silhouette is inspired by bringing an emotion from the time he saw her down the aisle with the veil on to when it is lifted off,” Abloh said.
Off-White’s womenswear designer Sabrina Mandelli told Vogue that she worked with a team of 20 people to bring the dress to fruition. The gown saw stunning details including Off-White’s “X” symbols, as well as pearls and white flowers.
Other details on the garment included the phrases “Wedding Dress” and “Till Death Do Us Part” on the lengthy veil. Hailey Bieber said she had always wanted Abloh to design her wedding dress due to her love for streetwear.
She also told Vogue that she was specific on the sleeves, and wanted them long and covering her hands. She also fixated on a certain silhouette and wanted her back to show.
The clip ends with the bride fully donning her wedding outfit, looking beautiful as ever.
