Advent Calendars for Classrooms

Posted by admin on

Advent calendars are fun for students as they countdown to Christmas. Most teachers like to have Random acts of Kindness Advent calendar activities for their students. TpT has many free Advent activities for kindness that you can find here. There are also simple craft activities for younger students that are free downloads and are easy to make. If you want to make hands on Advent calendars to hold treats for your students, you can make them using numbered pockets charts, felt Christmas trees, and Nativity scene pocket charts.

I love to find awesome seasonal classroom activities. As an Amazon affiliate, I may earn a commission for purchases using my links. Learn more. The ideas and paid links below are based on Amazon finds that are great for making Advent calendars.

  • Use a small pocket chart: A pocket chart can be used as an advent calendar. If you use a pocket chart with plastic pockets, number stickers can be added to them.

  • Use a large pocket chart: This shoe holder has 24 pockets and it is the perfect size for an Advent Calendar with homemade gifts. Huge safety pins were used to secure the gifts. The pocket chart can be use after the Advent season for classroom storage.

  • Wooden Advent calendar with drawers: This little wooden drawer chest has numbered drawers for each day.

  • Nativity Advent Calendars: Each of the nativity advent calendars above are from different brands but they usually come folded. If the folding has caused creasing, you can get the creases out with a garment steamer.

More ideas will be added soon.
